Linda Flores de Leon
Linda is a veteran of Harm Reduction who recently returned to her home town - New Orleans, Louisiana. Linda is still trying to find an avenue to do harm reduction work in NOLA. Linda has worked with young injection drug users for 15 years providing safer injecting education as well as counseling and overdose prevention education. Linda has experience as a harm reduction counselor for homeless youth, and has worked as a Hepatitis C prevention educator as well as an HIV and other STI prevention educator and tester.
Nora, co-organizer of Trystero, is peer-outreach and advocacy worker in New Orleans. Since 2007, in response to a real need for harm reduction services, she began collecting donated supplies and Naloxone to pass out to friends and street youth. Nora was a volunteer in 2006 and 2007, focusing on overdose prevention and access to recovery services, at the Harm Reduction Coalition in New York City.
Crow was introduced to Harm Reduction in 2003 when she began injecting opiates in New Orleans. At the time there was no syringe exchange, or a way to get Narcan. Since then she moved back to the West Coast where she got clean and worked for Harm Reduction Services in Sacramento Ca., and worked with the HRC in Oakland Ca.. She now calls New Orleans home and is a collective member with Trystero Syringe Distribution.
